Striving to follow his father's footstep, Leonard joined the Osean Air Force Academy. He was a promising recruit in his academy days, and was expected to be a renowned combat pilot in the future. He managed to eject out of his damaged plane, but was captured by the Belkan Army upon landing. He spent the rest of the war as one of the first POW of the war. Upon being released, his father disowned him upon returning and left him to his own. Leonard stayed in the OADF for another year before hanging his wing due to constant humiliation by his peers. After retirement he found a job at a repair shop in Oured.
